An OEM or private-label project typically starts from an existing product platform and changes agreed branding or configuration. An ODM project includes additional design and development around your requirements, such as industrial design, structure, hardware or software.
Which product platforms can we use for an OEM/ODM project?
Starting platforms include blood pressure watches, the CARE2 smart ring and the S10 CGM system. Choose the measurement and form factor first, then define the branding, materials, packaging and software requirements.
Which parts of a wearable can be customized?
Depending on the platform, options include case or ring finishes, straps, engraving, watch faces, startup screens and packaging. App interfaces, firmware changes and new hardware requirements need a defined technical scope and sample approval.
What information is needed before development starts?
Provide the intended users, measurement needs, target markets, preferred platform, quantity and required features. Include design references, app and connectivity requirements, packaging specifications and acceptance criteria in the product brief.
What should be approved before bulk production?
